YOU MAY BE AN UNDERDOG IF...
THE DEFINITIVE DEFINITION
An underdog is someone earning their living using their own skills or talents. We are Self-Employed, including mostly commissioned sales representatives, Network Marketing Distributors, and new business owners just getting started.
THE CHALLENGES WE FACE
The challenges we underdogs face are a lack of brand value, limited capacity, low self-value (we charge too little) and a lot of erroneous information in our heads (head trash) about doing business.
One erroneous idea we learned growing up watching TV. TV was and is big business spending big dollars to reach big audiences. And here we are today as an underdog with real capacity issues. Even if we could afford TV, if it were to “work”, we would not be able to deliver.
Brand value is an expensive thing to acquire. It’s what TV is so good at, but it is indirect marketing. It does increase the numbers of people who might remember who we are and what we do, but this effort is inefficient. It does not cause a measurable increase in sales. Underdogs need to understand direct marketing – the effort to cause something profitable to happen, now.
THE ADVANTAGES UNDERDOGS ENJOY
The advantages we enjoy are wonderful and include:
- We love what we do, and it shows
- We are more than competent, we have a Super Power
- We can choose the customers we serve
- We are specialists
- We serve specific niches
Underdogs have a super power, and we can and should use it for the right people and for the right reasons. We do not serve everybody.
